THE FOSTORIA COIN CLUB

The Fostoria Coin Club met on Monday April 21, 2008, 7:30 p.m. at the Lutheran Church on W. Center Street in Fostoria. Pres. Chuck Brandeberry called the meeting to order and welcomed the 22 members. The secretary and treasure reports were read and approved. Pres. Brandeberry offered our concerns and prayers for John Lovric who continues to receive radiation.

Old Business: In the absence of show chairman, Otto Blackburn, Pres. Blackburn thanked the members for doing an outstanding job with our 44th annual coin show March 30th. Our profit this year was the most we have had in many years. It took dedication of all committees and the chairperson. Raffle tickets sales were terrific this year. Thanks again to all who sold raffle tickets and worked at the show. The member’s table will continue next year since we thought it was successful. There was a discussion about the pros and cons of ending the show at 4 p.m. next year rather than 5 p.m. (The coin show in 2009 will be March 29th.)

New Business: Gary Moran announced the OSNA coin show (our club is a member). It will be held at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Columbus May 16, 17, 18. Layton Shultz showed the members a coin book he has for sale. Red Books for 2009 need to be ordered.

The meeting was adjourned by Gary Moran and Denny Hall. Dave Moyer conducted a 20 lot auction. The door prizes were won by James Haas and Claude Young. The next meeting will be May 19, 2008, 7:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Suzanne Hopkins, Secretary
